Mr Xu is on the other side of the world and probably can't speak any English. He may not care less what shareholders think because he doesn't have to deal with them.
Share buybacks are primarily used as way to increase management and directors salaries by artificially boosting the share price and triggering bonuses. They are a wicked waste of money.
