I reckon once they start shooting in Iraq gold will turn around and head south together with oil if the last Gulf War is any indication.
They do not need gold much nowadays, they do not put it in false teeth anymore and people are not getting married either.
It does not pay dividends and is to heavy and bulky to carry arround with you. About the only beneficial things is to turn it into jewelery and see if some bird will become more agreeable but that is not making money, that is enjoying it.
