Each to their own, i'm not going to criticise what you're doing as far as investments go. I also trade the vast majority of my portfolio (medium term) and try to follow the market legs up and down.
I'm actually slightly bearish on the US gold price but very bullish on the AUD gold price. So I'm not a gold bull, the way you define it, as you only see gold in USD.
I will always hold a small % of gold plus do medium term trading on most of the rest of my portfolio.
