I can tell you they are meant to buy food and key ingredients internally.
ie: coffee beans which is the cash cow. Franchisees are walking into nearest woolies to get $20 a kilo coffee bean vs company beans at $26.40. This recently dropped to $22. #Fact.
Cookies, sugar, syrups, sauces in the stores operating cold or hot beverages are made for rfg jacked up and sold as key ingredients that must be used to comply with kj rules and parameters.
other key items like bread rolls, croissants etc are meant to be purchased from MOCOAlso some stores havent paid distributors so are on stop supply. BIDFOODS etc. Issue is storage space & Minimum orders force the stores into nearest approved suppliers again woolies or Coles.
Franchisees have stopped in a lot of circumstances the ability for RFG to calculate then draw down the franchise fees.
Large amount of stores are running POS systems offline so it is impossible to calculate 8% of sales. In Gloria Jeans/Michels/Donut King this is huge problem especially as they also use the woolies beans (roasted by RFG for woolies) They miss bean kg sales and 8% of sale. This is what is killing cashflow.
Rfg has kept plenty of "yes men/women" to push the story. Issue is those same people are not skilled enough to have the tough discussions often to demand payment or police compliance to brand standards.
" Why don't RFG take back stores and run themselves?"
Fact is they can't. The model doesn't work with wages and leases how they sit.
This is why they will run a store to end of lease then also leave or give it to next sucker to avoid a defit with a gift of 3 months of no fees.
I am waiting for some government body to Audit the gazetted kilojoule signage across the brands.
Followed by some more detailed wages investigations.
And DiBella to buy his company back in a fire sale.
