Hi Mike, I have already discussed this a couple of times on HC at length so here's the abbreviated version.....
Ascending triangle and rising wedges can look only subtlely different on the chart but their outcomes are vastly different.
The dead flat horizontal line on the a/triangle is theoretically because a big player is getting out at a fixed price......the higher bottoms means plenty of buyer interest....when the seller is done the price can move up.
The up rising upper line of a rising wedge does NOT make the pattern even more bullish as you may expect...there is no one large seller keeping the price pinned down....just a dwindling buyer interest. The falling volume is another clue.
