I need to make $1500 in Jan off $7.5k to invest - this is...

    I need to make $1500 in Jan off $7.5k to invest - this is besides what I already have invested in tex. Only thing is, I can't afford to take a hit on this money.....the $1.5k is for a trip to Vegas.....I get the $7.5k on New Years Eve....should I take the plunge on TEX???? or leave it in ANZ shares (which could also go up 20% in January)???
