i rang the company...

Good afternoon everybody.

Just to let you all know, I rang the company and spoke to Thomson Noord (spelling?).

A very pleasant chap as I'm sure all investor relations guys are.

I lead in with the fact that I wasn't expecting him to be able to tell me why an investor had suddenly decided to sell all their shares but to see if they new who it was and whether there was anything else they could do to stop the flow of blood.

He said they were monitoring it closely and that until trades had settled, could not tell who the seller was (yawn).

He said they were on track for the 3000 barels plus some possible bonus action from the volcanics.

I said it almost looked as though the new operators may not be as smart as everyone thinks and perhaps there has been a whisper to suggest that targets won't be met after all.

He was quick to dismiss this and said that everything looked good.

He said that ECO had discussed the possibility of buying their 40% of Thailand and whilst there were no actual discussions at the moment, he felt it was something that could/would be revisited.

I also asked if there would be a show of faith from the directors by digging in to the hip pocket for a few 'on market purchases'. He said almost everyone was tapped out from full committment to the recent raising at 8.2.

He was very measured all the way through the call with broad, general, reassuring statements and wasn't until the very end where I detected a tiny slip of the tongue.

I made one last referance to these "mystery sellers" and he said: They havn't got many left.

(I have deliberately not put that sentence in inverted commas as I don't want to be pinged for missing a word from an exact quote. You get the gist though)

I will be watching very closely and intend to make one more attempt to catch this falling and ever sharpening knife.
