    I congratulate Michael Leunig.
The Military/Security and Police forces are obviously necessary in a far from perfect world
--- but the experiences of Vietnam, Iraq, Panama, etc,etc are glowing examples of their misuse, danger and destructiveness.
Nationalist fervour is forever used to manipulate.
Politics, religion and nations stop people thinking.

Our actions (the coalitions) in Iraq are obscene and the lies that led to the invasion are a disgrace.

Gallipoli itself should be a rallying point for those of us who distrust government and despise the lies they feed us.
Instead it is used by these very government bodies to raise patriotict and nationalistic feeling which they use to further confuse and manipulate.

I also note with interest the articles on Joh. I realise his shortcomings were many and varied --most probably disgraceful.
But the same people who pour scorn on Joh are very often those that give our current premier such rave reviews and high popularity -- an objective look at the situation, suggests to me that they are in fact clones of each other
