We need to remember that there was no drilling results during 2007 - the result of inability to secure an outside drill crew.
what a difference a year makes... this year will be very exciting and different with 4 drill rigs owned and available 24/7.
ALD hasnt even tested the depths with this RC drilling.
the rich sulphides are at depth and require deeper diamond drilling .. but the main focus is for nearer surface oxides and transitional(the area between oxide and sulphide zones).
The plan is obviously to find as much near surface stuff as possible to allow for a longer open pit mine life and production ramp up. Something like 150,000 oz/year for an initial 15 year (oxide) mine life
Interestingly there are also base metals alluded to on the other islands .. apparently potential for a large copper/Au porhyry style mineralisation on Tabar island.
there will certainly be a lot of drilling happening all this year.
The expected deeper, richer grades of underlying sulphides will just need to wait for the priority RC drilling at this stage.
We could end up doubling the resource this year - so hang on tight - I'm certainly not selling.
