I've been aware Redflow for some years.

I was lucky enough to meet Simon in Brisbane about a month ago after he presented at the National Solar Convention.  One of the things he mentioned was the safety issue.  Bromine is used as a fire retardant and unlike Li-ion batteries will not explode.  Li-ion batteries are usually quite safe -unless they are subject to mechanical violence -such as may be experienced in a car crash / earthquake etc.  Simon told me that if a LI-ion battery does start to combust / melt explode ...then you need to get escape quickly -and the science appears to back this up:

Cars that have experienced this issue have burned to the ground:

IMO this presents a grave concern when attached to a building / house ...or especially a home and I postulated to Simon that such an event would cause considerable negative publicity and potential adverse market reaction against that particular supplier supplier.

Those worried about the price should also consider the innovators and early adopters.

They are motivated by price (in the case of those living on farms running backup generators for example) or they have money to spend and want the safest and the best.  Most of these won't be initially sold in city areas.

This is the perfect time to commence manufacture in smaller quantities as issues of scale become resolved.

If I was a shareholder, I would be happy that my company is not prepared to manufacture at a loss, -being a loss leader doesn't always pay off and can lead down a slippery slope.

I'm writing this post because I like balance and truth and I would happily be a shareholder and keen to invest in the future when possible  ...but I'm all in on another ASX ride at the moment (literally tied up at the moment ...in fact in suspension ).

All the best to you shareholders.
