    the term "self-funded retirees" may mean different things to different people. Here in rural Victoria a self-funded retiree is generally someone who was self employed, never had super, but managed his business and finances in a way that secured his retirement. I guess a public servant, or any employee whose retirement was secured by superannuation would be deemed self-funded, but it's not really the same.
