You'll see plenty of posts from me in the past re NEA and the old SFI, or Spookfish, which AMX took over the local operations after the Eagleview takeover (I've held all 3). I've engaged AMX in the long past for some aerial photography and sort of see why they wanted out of the project stuff, fairly fiddly in the day when they had to drive around and put survey targets on ground before fly over. I digress. The reality is that AMX is sort of competing against NEA, and AMX would sure re-rate up a fair bit once they naturally acquire more customers from NEA in Oz. NEA ultimately is a bet on traction in USA and maybe a few other countries. I don't know why I still have a few of my NEA, maybe nostalgia being a former heavy user of their product. One thing I think AMX might be open to is a self service/one off portal to their product for us smaller consultants who no way can afford NEA's pricing nor AMX's subscriptions. I enquired re NEA and it's truly priced to deter small customers. Eg, I might be happy to buy a square km of LiDar and/or aerial photo for $100 on an occasional basis. They have all this data and it's just for lack of a digital mechanism that keeps it away from valuable use. All not needing any human interaction. I guess it'll come but can't see NEA doing it.
