Thanks for your reply. You raise some salient points about the Crib Point project. Trash is an emotive word though that you use. I think you could have perhaps substituted that with something like risked. Indeed, it seems like Redman may have had to fall on his sword because of this failed project.
Many companies split to maximize shareholder value. I think it is is presumptuous to assume that AGL is splitting to walk away from financial obligations. The split seems more likely to be for branding reasons IMO.
