agree with you optimistus, but an AGL share price of $7/$6/$5 represents a very different value proposition to an AGL share price north of $15 which is where AGL has historically traded.
For myself could I be too early taking a first position at an effective price of $6.80 for AGL? Quite possibly! but that's why it's a first position. I feel much more confident dollar averaging downwards from $6.80 than from its historical $15+.
My eyes are always on the underlying company value and then comparing to the share price.
Obviously I also believe coal will be in the electricity mix for many years to come.
If one believes that Australia will be totally renewable energy within the next 15yrs, one shouldn't just not buy AGL they should short the crap out of it.
