Separation anxiety disorder(SAD) is a psychological condition in which an individual experiences excessive anxiety regarding separation from home or from people to whom the individual has a strong emotional attachment.

SAD is characterized by significant and recurrent amounts of worry. Those suffering from SAD worry about losing their cognitive portfolio and often refuse or are unable to reinvest their emotional capital in alternative places.
Sufferes may refuse to sleep alone, experience nightmares about separation, or experience various physical complaints (e.g., body-aches, nausea and staring wistfully empty computer screens).
Separation anxiety may cause significant impairment in important areas of functioning, (e.g., academic, social and financial). Should the duration of this problem last greater than four weeks radical intervention may be required and the sufferers power of attorney ceeded to Perpetual trustees ...
