I disagree that the weather is a poor excuse. The Alinta business provides gas to most WA homes and relies on the heating during winter to get a lot of profits. There is no way that anyone would have forecasted the lack of rain and cold weather that Perth is having. This would have a material impact to the performance of the Alinta Business. How many people in WA would have pulled out their heaters yet?
Very simply : warm winter = lower profits
cold winter = higher profits
