The fact is that Abbott is a Pell supporter. The fact is that Abbott lied on television about meeting Pell way back when. Etc.
Why don't you just address that rather than just bang on about his fire fighting volunteering ?
There are thousands of Aussies who are fire brigade volunteers. People who take time off their own jobs and businesses ( unpaid ) to help out. Businesses that let their their employees go and help out and pay for them to do it. Farmers who put their farming duties on hold to fight fires. People that don't have generous government pensions to fall back on. On top of that, all those families have wives, fathers, mothers, daughters and sons who volunteer to support all the others fighting fires. Real community stuff.
All for free. Never rewarded. Never even acknowledged publicly.
And the best you can do is tell us is that Abbott,who is on a generous pension with all the perks and is effectively retired, is doing a bit of volunteer work ?
Is that really the best thing that someone that was a politician for 30 years can do ? Surely he could pay a few volunteers to do the work and use his myriad of political connections to improve fire management in Australia ?
