The broker market shares for last week's trading bonanza are in... Commsec punters can't get enough ZIP, they bought another net 10m shares and traded 153m shares in total... yes that's 22% of the total shares on issue(!). The net purchases done at a VWAP of 1.225, so more or less flat/very slightly underwater depending on when you look at it.
The other retail oriented brokers were also net buyers with Wealthhub, Openmarkets (Selfwealth), AIX, CMC, Finclear and Wilsons all net buyers.
Interesting/oddball one was Barrenjoey, which is an institutional broker, they bought ~2m shares at an average of 1.39 and didn't sell even 1 share. I'd interpret this as a short cover rather than a new long, but that's just a guess. Anyway, this is a retail day trader stock doing what retail day trader stocks do - good luck traders.
