A good expression "the shorting is the symptom of the fallen share price, not the cause". Did you make that up or borrow it ?. It's very good.
I wonder how this plays out in todays market, where the kick a$$ people are those who can move quickly (ie dont have a few milllion to move). Perhaps it's different at the institutional vs day trader level ?. But this must leave huge gaps for arbitrage, unless backroom swaps keep happening ? (ie twin markets ?)
