Don't you get it Eugene? It's not about paying off a burger&chips order in 4 instalments, it's about attracting and then bringing customers to merchants. An app-based payment method where you aren't charged interest but can order anything with a click or two and your cash outflow is deferred but set in place from the start. Seamless integration is key. The collaboration with uber eats is a pretty solid example of good integration and the future imo. Those shaking their head either don't understand the bigger picture of the bnpl business model and/ or are too far detatched from gen z and millenials to understand their approach to budgeting and finance. Hint- they hate big banks but love mobile apps! Bnpl vs credit card kinda reminds me of stubborn folk paying for groceries with cash and cheques. Ugh why would i use that stupid piece of plastic when I can use cash!
