Some posts in the past were positive toward the benefits of a recession for BNPL whereas, in the real world, the first payments people are missing are their PNPL payments. From an ABC News article this morning.
"Last month, arrears across the land of the long white cloud were up, with indicators showing it was buy now pay later accounts that were the first household budget item to slip into the red when money was tight".
I might be wrong, but I assume BNPL is more popular with a cohort of people more likely to be in lower-paying work and higher personal debts to income ratios. Sounds like bad debts are not going away anytime soon for Zip.
