-A volatile stock market is ideal for traders - whether its trading up or down - it doesn't matter, if you are a skilled trader. Alot of people are making alot of money (at the expense of investors) in this environment.
-The stockmarket is like a blood test for the economy. At the moment it's completely haywire - reflecting the macro global conditions. Property is like the liver. A buffer to the toxins that occur from time to time in the 'bloodstream' of the economy. It's certainly not a safe haven when an economy turns septic and overwhelms everything - which is what it is the process of doing.
