I've often wondered if BrainChip priced BrainChip Studio out of the market. It might be a superior product under certain conditions, but there's a sea of competition out there when it comes to artificial intelligence in software.

However, there's currently a complete lack of commercial neuromorphic hardware in the market. Hurry up, Akida! They've reiterated the 3rd quarter of 2019 several times now, so hopefully we'll see samples of Akida in 4-6 months? First-mover advantage would be nice!

Unfortunately, I'd say a capital raising is likely to happen before then. However, if the Akida Development Environment is currently impressing potential customers, and if Akida's specifications are second to none, then perhaps we might see a strategic investment in BrainChip from at least one of BrainChip's potential customers? Such an investment would at least validate the technology and help to restore investor confidence, in my opinion.

Valeo has previously been in "dialogue" with BrainChip:
"I'm talking about companies that we're having dialogue with now, including Volkswagen, Renault, General Motors, Valeo, you know the list goes on."

and Valeo researchers have cited BrainChip's work very recently:
Exploring Deep Spiking Neural Networksfor Automated Driving Applications
"Several implementations of deep SNNs on neuromorphic hardware such as SpiNNaker and BrainChip have demonstrated sensor applications that support this potential of SNNs."

    BrainChip's Non-Executive Director Manny Hernandez:

is also a Director at On Semi:

which claims to be a #1 Industrial ASIC supplier:

they have a document on System-on-Chip (SoC), Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC):

and a document on converting FPGA designs into ASIC designs:

and their sample customers include some of BrainChip's representative potential customers:

At least it appears that Bob believes the Akida Development Environment is worth demonstrating at the tinyML Summit?

And then there's the one of the top five storage system providers who is "very satisfied"...

"Next bullet does touch on and again, under NDA, so it's difficult for us to talk about the name. But in the storage market, there are five major players in the storage market, Dell/EMC, HP, Net App, IBM, and the fifth would be a Hitachi. I think I mentioned several calls ago that when we announced the collaboration that we have with Quantum, which doesn't fall into that top five, we immediately got an inbound from one of the top five. They have trialed BrainChip Studio very successfully. And in fact, went ahead and said, "Okay, now, we're very satisfied with what we see. We'd like to see what the accelerator could do for us with regard to throughput." We did ship that accelerator card. I think I touched on this in a couple of more slides down. We did ship that accelerator card. They plugged it in, activated the licenses in a very, very fast pace for a major storage manufacturing the OEM space. It was something that we're very pleased with and could have a meaningful upside potential with the company as we move forward."
