    the privateer82, the ACCC who is pursuing the case is the "competition" watchdog, and is not a political puppet, it is an institution that exists and has teeth regardless of the political party holding office at any given time. Further, given that proper competition is one of the key assumptions underlying the case of the free market, I would suggest that most economic liberals (of which the current coalition would say that are adherent of) would agree in proper competition. Labor may have their faults, but they have absolutely nothing to do with the case current or pending against CAB by the ACCC. CAB shareholders obviously want the virtual monopoly maintained however as against this the consumer does suffer by paying higher prices (generated via the the protection of a monopoly)
