"Average down is always dangerous" ...
Watch out for slogans; following them is always dangerous. And there's one to fit every situation - and its converse.
If you believe in a stock, why not buy it on dips? And a dip is when it's down - so you are averaging down.
That said, chasing a stock down is quite life-threatening. Watch the market, the volume, the charts ... and the fundamentals, form announcements and from (reasoned) rumours.
