    To the doubters and knockers

Firstly, there wouldn't be any UNS if it wasn't for AS.
Secondly, his shift to the US and setting up shop in York PA was a masterstroke, as was listing on the NASDAQ.
AS has assembled a formidable group of experienced managers and developers with vast experience and background.
AS sealed the deal with Sanofi which meant that the plant could be built.

Yes, there has been a very disappointing lack of signed deals, with the GFC timing not helpful at all.
Yes, AS has been guilty of getting excited and making rather rash promises of when the sales are going to start.
If you compare his leadership to a few other multinational CEO's, who have overseen multi-billion dollar losses, AS has actually done pretty well. He has assembled the plant, assembled the personnel, attracted finance, and made the world aware of what his company is offering. Apparently there is a lot of serious interest in the product, and we are all waiting ( some patiently) for results.

I was a substantial holder of shares in CST, a successful TB diagnostic company, which was run by the doctors who developed the science. There was much discussion about how much better the company would have been run and how much greater sales would have happened if the good doctors had moved back and let a "professional business person" run the business. Eventually QIAGEN , a large European company bought out CST. When I looked at the most recent company report, QIAGEN, with all its resources and expertise, was managing to grow the business at about the same rate as our local doctors had done.

My point is, that the medical business does not move quickly at all. New technologies take a long time to be accepted as better than the old "tried and trusted", and more importantly, familiar methods.

I believe that AS has done magnificently, and has only misjudged how quickly the medical world will embrace new technology.

    Cheers
    J
