Thanks for your comments Mazwegian.
I think you are right re kids...they aren't that interested in granite bench tops,ensuites etc .It's us grown ups who think they are important and I was no different but alas I have seen the light and I am happy in my skin now I have dealt with my mistake.
The fact is that whether you are a bull or a bear on the property market I think we can all agree that that the family home should be exactly that and that only.
The thing is I still believe houses are overpriced in this country but the sheer weight of numbers is against us and only a fool would try and beat the massive vested interest groups.
Although there may well be a correction of sorts at some stage in my mind the potential benefits will not be enough to compensate the lost years of family stability and to the poster who said "visit an art gallery"......you obviously don't have a young family.
Explaining to your kids why you have to move again is heart wrenching.
Again my advice to all with a family who think they can beat the herd......BE CAREFUL!!!!!
