Why? For starters she now has nothing better to do than attack little children in this instance without having any understanding at all of what she is talking about.
Facts? Maybe if she should have looked up Wikipedia she would know that Autism is a broad brush term that covers many DIFFERENT conditions ..... some of which can impact an individual's learning capacity and some of which do not.
Why pick on the Autism Spectrum? I don't know. There are many spectrums, some of which are properly defined as illnesses , some of which are not, some are episodic, many are treatable and many which are on the borderline . Teachers used to pick on kids with low IQ's, sit them down the back of the room, plonk an dunce cap on their heads ..... and regularly belt the living daylights out of them for failing to learn. Where would Pauline sit in such a classroom? Who are the biggest learning disruptors? Perhaps schoolyard bullies with no definable illness beyond an anger management issue imported from home.
Solution? Simple .... fund schools to implement programs for those kids with special needs of whatever description. Employ more teacher's aides to provide individualised guidance to those the kids that need it.
