Yes, sabine, I do bemoan the fact that lawyers were called in. It happens all too often, and generally (no, ALWAYS) at the expense of shareholders.
Drake has still not made its intentions clear? True. They have spent their whole time defending themselves and trying to justify their actions without coming up with any sort of plan for the future, or reason why they should be supported. They toss a couple of names up, pretend that they are independent and then expect us all to throw ourselves at the opportunity to cast votes in their favour.
for .... what? How is that meant to inspire trust or confidence?
The company, alternatively, has made a complete mess of trying to cover the fact that they were working on the Chandler/Reveley system of running the company like it was their own little kingdom. The unannounced purchase of Eagle, the new premises, and then the absurd statement that they want to buy more companies? What was that all about? The continuous stream of capital raisings ... down to the most absurd level when shareholders were effectively ripped off at 90 cents? How do we get to 35 cents? Those who got to participate in that did fine, they got to average. If you are suggesting that BM can contribute a level of professionalism here ... I've yet to see it. I HAVE noted him taking his rewards, though.
sabine, there are no angels here. I'm sure Drake will do well in the end. I'm sure that the various other players in this will do well in the end. I'm sure that retail shareholders will be the ones who pay all the money to those who do well in the end- where else can it come from?
As always, we are the losers. Why would any of us support another CR, given the history of disasters that has peppered the recent past of this company?
I have hope for this company - but only if people start dealing honestly. I'm yet to see that happen.
