Im touring through the Philipinnes and Vietnam. People in these regions are earning on average about $5 a day. Alot of the working class people have smartphones. Asus or Oppo. Cheaper versions than apple or samsungs.
As for Your monthly connection plan hypothesis...well most people buy data loads daily as they require.
Australian and NZers get sucked into expensive Monthly or 2 yearly plans.
So people in Africa and Asia can buy data loads as their personal or business requirements.
SAS would easily fit into this cheaper data paradigm.
As for Your comment about "reserving the right to gloat later"....why would You gloat as another person or companies misfortunes?
As for financials. Thats an easily seen path. Money out requires money in.
