On face value this doesn't appear to have anything to do with ethnicity. She was number 6 on the list- of 6 - and her friend said if you're not 1 or 2 you never get a look-in. Essentially, they both knew she was no chance before they even turned up, regardless of the ethnicity of the other 5 applicants.

That sort of stuff might go on in the UK, I have no idea. But this clip doesn't support its existence in any way.
