It is plausible that Renesas is providing Tesla with chips, but that definitely doesn't have anything to do with the order placed by Brainchip for Akida production at the TSMC.

The Renesas deal was for IP, not physical Akida chips. My best bet as to why the order was placed with such urgency is that Renesas ran into a Brainchip protected IP roadblock when developing their own NP chip and had no choice than to pay Brainchip to enable them to continue with their development. I have no idea what that deal looks like on paper in turns of revenue, but I'm sure our leaders drafted an agreement which ensured short-term revenue to satisfy shareholders. I expect the announcement would have been worded very differently if the company didn't expect cash to be coming in in the near-future as many shareholders are now hanging to see what the deal has brought in. My thoughts only.
