I think Crean is a real chance. Supposedly 20 MPs are in Rudd's office trying to convince him to run.
Crean has been treated shabbily by Gillard. He isn't a star but he would be a reasonable alternative to Abbott at the next election and could limit the damage.
Barry Cassidy has just said Rudd's strategy was to destroy the ALP vote until they had no choice but the situation we see today. He's a real team player is Rudd!
