On the surface, this merger is a great move in my opinion. There is no doubt the project and CMX would have done well on their own, but the combined entity takes some sting out of the third-world risk. You never know what can happen in New Zealand....
Seriously, I'm happy to get on board with great prospects and an exciting project in the Philippines, with good production in New Zealand to back it up.
I would guesstimate that the obvious value of .62 OGD share, and the intrinsic value of the option would stand today at about 5¢, gives CMX value at 53¢. The oppies are the real draw. If the combined company doesn't get silly with share issues - and does 500,000 ounces or more per year - and those other Philippine prospects look like delivering....10 bagger for Jan 2009...
