Chips is normally when you are looking on surface for an indicator of fertility.
But we already know where it is. So their hot targets are already identified.
They could chip outside of their known targets, for others. They would best to look for similar surface signatures with their know trend. Good thing is that it is so close to surface, that there is likely to be some sort of signature that might assist them in mapping other speculative targets of same.
