Just had a look at the charts for IAG. There is no doubt it is a sad looking chart. I cant help feeling that its oversold, but, not wanting to catch a falling knife, I think I will wait for the uptick before I start buying. A lot of the disasters from last year are unlikely to reoccur (such as the bushfires etc) as those areas are already burnt out. It seems to be an El Nina year and hopefully there are less disasters. We own a number of rental properties and almost all are insured thru IAG. The COVID crisis in our case does not do away with the need to have properties and vehicles insured and IAG has been receiving our premiums unabated. Getting back to the charts with simple moving averages over an 18 month period would hardly tempt anyone to be a buyer at this stage, but time is a healer and I could easily see a 20% in crease in SP over the coming 12 months. Thats nowhere near its previous high, but a 20% return in a 12 month period is nothing to sneeze at. Just my opinion....................
