'all animals'...it's a go...and disbelievers, please understand this is a multi bill market..oh, and poh owns the patch

Australian company Integrated Animal Health (IAH) aims to commercialize oxycodone patch technology for treating pain in animals.
The firm took the decision following a successful proof-of-concept study in thoroughbred racehorses. The study was conducted with Melbourne-based drug delivery firm Phosphagenics, who originally created the technology for the use in humans.
Queensland-headquartered IAH said the study was so successful, it has elected to exercise an option with Phosphagenics to commercialize the oxycodone patches for animal use.
Mr Rob Neely, chief executive of IAH, said: "The potential for a non-systemic, opioid treatment alternative, localized to the site of pain, should provide veterinarians targeted pain relief benefits for all animals to cope, recover and heal.
"The ability to limit the use of systemic drug treatments, via this type of patch technology, will also assist the welfare and well-being of injured animals or animals in pre- or post-operative care scenarios."
Mr Neely said the patch could be used to treat pain in performance animals, feed chain animals and companion animals.
