By your logic, basically every bit of news that affected sentiment would render the historical chart prior to that point in time "somewhat irrelevant". It's the same share register as before, I reckon @d_l_b makes a good point. No matter which point in time you decide to draw a line in the sand, there are definitely still holders who bought a mining stock in the register, and at various sp levels. To completely discount this is folly.
