    That seems to be a familiar theme in Australia for many small companies.

    And IMO the reason is that they don't want a WRITTEN RECORD of anything.

    Whatever is said on the phone can later be denied if it turns out to be different from reality or their inteprretation.

    Frankly speaking, if they don't want to put it in writing that sends up alarm bells to me right away.

    As far as recording a call, you had better check the laws in the state in which you live. Some states MAY allow a recording of a call if you are party to it. Others may not.

    As far as calls between states - I'm not sure how that works.

    And if you ask the other party if it is ok to record the call.........well again another set of laws, but I doubt that they would let you.

    When I worked for the cops, well we had a different process to go through and that was years ago.
