ian frazer on npc abc 1 today, page-6

I watched the Honourable Professor Ian Frazer address the national press club luncheon today on ABC TV.
He was there to speak about Science and the importance it should have in our society. Whilst he didnt mention PRR specifically, he did mention a number of times that he was working to find solutions to cervical cancer with the gardasil vaccine, specifically in third world countries where he said the delivery can be very difficult.
IMO he may have been referring to the work he is doing with PRR in relation to developing an oral vaccine for this very purpose...where there is a HUGE market.
He said that no-one need die from this disease as it is completely curable...it just needs fundng to get it to the point where a cure is available to all!!!
Overall, I thought his speech was very admirable and he comes across as an very compassionate man, an extremely worthy winner of Australian of the Year in 2006!
