Completely different industry sector, but take a look at how the IBA Health /iSoft merger turned out few years ago...

IBA, a ~$30m company with no debt merges with an ambitious UK entity with ~$200m debt, two completely different types of entity from an operational perspective, the wrong mix on the board, everyone lost.

To me, this merge has a strong potential to mimic the outcome above. I personally don't see (perhaps someone can enlighten me) on why DTE shouldn't take Total/GDF equations already in place and progress as the EU/UK energy revolution unfolds..??

I personally thank it's an opportunistic attempt by NHC/Krestlake to backfill a cash flow position. Does anyone definitively know whether iGas approached DTE, or were the major shareholder consortium the initiators of discussions...

Anyway, food for thought... Do some digging on IBA and iSoft if you have some time, it was an ambitious plan poorly implemented in an uncertain environment...

Vote NO in light of a significantly superior offer as far as I'm concerned. Pretty confident this isn't going to get legs at the meeting, 25% NO vote triggers scheme abandonment...

    Good luck people...
