BMWi planning further research funding (08/06/2014)
Highlight the Ministry of Economy on fuel cells
In the latest monthly report of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWi), entitled "Highlights of the economic policies" are hydrogen and fuel cells in focus. The article "Hydrogen on the mills of the energy revolution" summarizes the various activities of the Ministry around hydrogen and fuel cell technologies for which it is committed in the course of research funding. Among other things, a spotlight is thrown on fuel cell units for combined heat and power generation. From the sustainability of innovative systems, the BMWi is convinced: "The fuel cell offers efficient and environmentally friendly form of energy conversion. In accordance with the public policy objectives of energy policy they can therefore contribute to the energy system of the future. "" This should also arise a docked in Germany value chain, which can cover all parts of the system. ", The Economics Ministry is planning a targeted and effective support research on the expiry of the National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP) addition, "in order to ensure the necessary precisely in this area of technology continuity and best use of structured knowledge for the advancement of technology." On the occasion of this year's Hannover Messe, the VDMA and the fuel cell initiative had Federal Minister of Economics Sigmar **riel informed on the state of stationary fuel cells (see press release Minister visit ). From the perspective of the Fuel Cell Initiative in particular support for the market startup is required. The latest edition of "Highlights of Economic Policy" is available for download.

Market run-up of fuel cell heating (09/04/2014)
Sigmar **riel informed about fuel cells in domestic energy supply
"The breakthrough of fuel cell will succeed if the market run-up is successful. Here we want a support from the federal government, "said Andreas Ballhausen, Speaker of the Fuel Cell Initiative (IBZ) on the occasion of the visit of Sigmar **riel, Federal Minister of Economy and Energy, the state of the IBZ at the Hannover Messe on April 9 at the initiative of VDMA. IBZ and VDMA Minister **riel explained the benefits of fuel cells in domestic energy supply and its role in the future energy supply.
Opportunity for the energy transition and the location Germany
"The fuel cell reduces CO 2 emissions by around 50 percent," say the two IBZ spokesman Andreas Ballhausen and Markus Seidel. "The innovative technology is capable of advancing the energy change in the building sector." This is done by the efficiency gains from combined heat and power production and power generation by self-discharge. By modulating operation supports the integration of renewable electricity from wind and sun in the nets. In addition, fuel cell devices have not only in Germany but also internationally excellent sales opportunities.
Seven manufacturers presented fuel cell devices
Industry and the public sector have invested as part of the National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell (NIP) heavily in this technology development. On the IBZ stand Economics Minister **riel could see for themselves how mature and how big is the range of fuel-cell devices. With models following manufacturers are represented: Baxi Innotech, Buderus, Ceramic Fuel Cells, Elcore, Hexis, Vaillant and Viessmann. In the IBZ are also involved: the German Energy Agency (dena), EnBW, E.ON, EWE, MVV Energie, the National Organization for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NOW), SWL and VNG.
