I've had a peek at the final Acacia installment. There's a section arguing that DCM and NuCoal are the same legal entity. This is a simply puerile garbage. DCM was a NSW partnership, and NuCoal is a listed company coming under fed law, and subject to ASIC.

DCM partners were given shares in NuCoal, as part payment for the lease, but that does not mean they are NuCoal. If a criminal owns shares in BHP, that does not make BHP a criminal organization. Ipp SC seems to think that it does.

While the legal argument does not have much to do with the investigation of Ian MacDonald, the section is included to aid and abet O'Farrell's political requirements. Probably what the Tuesday meetings were about.

O'Farrell may well be open for business with Jimbo, Ronners, and the Schnoz, but foreign investors will be taking a different view. This isn't the 60s anymore.

As I (actually we) read more, I'm getting the feeling that Ipp has left O'Farrell a bit of a Trojan Horse. Deliberately?
