    Never believed in the death penalty, but Bolte was very much a down to earth premier with runs on the board.
    He was more of an old fashioned liberal, wanting to grow the economy and Victoria as a whole. He was a big supporter of immigration and the manufacturing industry in particular.
    As for the NSW Government, I rather have the present Premier than all of the ALP's recent short termers. NSW of late has been a traditional ALP state. Many people voted against the ALP for the first time ever and with good reason.,,Voters don't like the smell of corruption, are not fools and vote accordingly (see last NSW election results and Qld election results of 1989, when the National Party got booted out, for good case studies).
