The allocation of a collective trendy in-house name to two existing commercial software packages (iCAR to describe inteleviewer PACS and Visage RIS) does not cover up the fact that Primary Imaging is only now catching up to industry leaders iMed and Sonic Healthcare, both of whom have had similar or better versions of both software for 10+ years. YES 10+ YEARS. This "new" software does not leapfrog the competitors, it merely gets Primary to the same level as those competitors at best.
There is no software for patient access to images (I-Med, Q-Scan). There is no app for patients or referrers (I-MEd, Sonic). There is no referrer guideline online (iMed, Q-Scan). There is no investment in AI (capitol).
Without investment in network connectivity as Sonic and iMed have done for 10+ years that software cannot drive medical images off-site to take advantage of workload balancing and improve turnaround times and company performance.
DATA TRANSFER SPEED BETWEEN IMAGING SITES:
Sonic mainly are 50-100Mbps between sites.
I-Med are around 50Mbps between most sites.
Qscan are 100-200Mbps between sites.
Primary are 10-20Mbps on their upgraded sites, and 2-6Mbps at standard sites.
The AGM announcement on imaging rings pretty hollow given this information. There is no change to imaging that will drive referrals to primary instead of to it's major competitors.
GP centres lie empty of GPs.
Pathology seems to be only money maker.
Time to Divest / liquidate unprofitable sectors and concentrate on Pathology maybe?
