morning, thanks, the "Fools never live for long in this country." I noticed something not dissimilar in Vietnam. I didn't notice the intellect, but I did notice the ability of the people - they were also probably intelligent. Same reason - continual war, for decades. It's always made me wonder. I also got a comment from a couple who lived in country, I won't name it - no need and it sounds insulting. - The country was raped of it's intellect. Regime went through and killed millions who were smart - took all the kinds of people that the boneheads on here talk about - academics, thinkers, artists etc etc. The couple said - that you could see the results of the culling clearly in the streets. That it was totally different, that you could see people trying to work out simple issues, maybe building repair or similar, and they just plain struggled with things like problem solving etc. So, that was an example of the opposite effect - ''"Fools never live for long in this country." where the intellectuals were killed off and only the lower intellects survived. I often think of the same concept when I'm in areas that were stone age - early stone age and I think ----------- you wouldn't have lasted long if you weren't all that bright here. This comment - might have more than a ring of truth to it -Michaela Charles was the brewer who oversaw the eye-opening ancient Egyptian rebrew. "The most exciting thing was that the beer literally brewed itself," she said. "In a modern brewery, you take malted barley through a series of processes to make alcohol. The steps we followed created a smooth continuous path without the need for intervention and produced a delicious, finished beer with minimum effort... Many people assume the passing of time equals the accumulation of wisdom. I feel the opposite is increasingly true." I'll pop you the link if you want the article - it's about ancient brewing. (I can't put it in here - I'm using the old version of HC for this post and need to hotlink - another stone age issue)

Good one, Pinto. I hadn't considered the slaughtering of all the intellects dynamic and the backward step in the evolutionary process of breeding. Both dynamics makes the forward evolution of human's so much more complex.
