brucey, pedro and Blao has a point, the buy back do put an extra big buyer on market. - A bonus div. would please me, but it would make MCR a short term investment, - meaning inverters like me would most probably unload the shares after the bonus and make the share price drop.
Buy back on the other hand would be good for the long termers,
as it would make the shares more tightly held. (get rid of the disloyal)
Also buying the shares up one-self will stop an other company buying it. eg. a takeover. It also may push a take over price up.
