This info would seem to contradict some of the claims of the thread.

The hydrogen solution is getting heaps of money thrown at it, but no amount of money can overcome physical limitations.

It might be great for Iceland with its small commuting distances and ubiquitous geothermal energy, but it runs a very distant place as a solution in oz imo.
