Here's a tip: the vast majority of companies on the ASX are duds. Most won't be profitable, many of the good ones will be bought out as they start to bloom, and a very small few make it from minnow to whale and stay listed. The remainder are there to take your money to pay their salary. Look for the minnows, they're out there...

Even you can probably learn something from the AVZ mess. There's always hope.
