Hey Snouty
If you have a look at the lines highlighted in red from Mr Promnitz's announcement last week, it clearly shows that we are to expect high grade drilling results this week.
And these drilling results will be used to "improve the quality and increase the current resource inventory....."
Basically this current high grade drilling program has three main goals.
1. Improve the current JORC Resource.
Which means lift more ounces from the Inferred Category into Measured (Reserve) and Indicated. (BTW as IDC accomplishes this, the value of the gold per ounce in the ground lifts significantly, due to the additional validation of the amount and quality of gold in our Baby Mammoth)
2. Increase the total JORC Resource, so release for the first time Measured + Increase the current 700,000 high grade Indicated Gold and increase the Inferred gold resource too. By how much? No one knows, but Mr Promnitz seems pretty confident that his Geos can double or triple it in the next few months.
3. Find new gold areas along strike, to the north and south, east and west of the current drilling locations, as well as at depth, where the previous drill holes by Buffalo finished only 350metres deep and finished in gold.
We know from our sister gold deposit Porgera that she goes down 1km! We have only touched the surface, literally at Mt Kare!
This also reiterates Mr Promnitz's comments in the presentation in late February, which is in the video at the beginning of this thread, that "as geologists we wouldn't be doing our job if we didn't double or triple the resource at Mt Kare, when we have a 30 million ounce gold mine next door...."
The current JORC Resource is 2.1million ounces of gold. :)
